Dec 27, 2003 Rogue Brewery in Newport, Oregon

VW Campers please join Julie and I "Under the Bridge" at the original Rogue
Brewery for good company, good ol' VW campers, and enough rogue to possibly
sink a small ship in the pacific ocean. This is a good day to prepare for a
very, very good new year. We hope to see many familiar faces of course.
Including brewmasters from such establishments as Hood Rivers "Full Sail
Brewery."

Champoeg State Park is off I-5 exit 278 approx. 20 miles south of Portland.
Follow signs. Reservations have been made in the (gasp) RV group section and
includes the meeting room. Some electrical hook-ups.

OctoBugFest 2003 / Dash Point Overnighter
Oct 12, 2003 Western Washington State Fairgrounds

Puyallup, WA. 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Set up is Saturday, Oct. 11, 4 pm to 7pm... and Sunday, Oct. 12, 7am - 8:30am exhibitors gate is for set up hours only and closes at 8:30 am SHARP on Sunday.
General admission - $6.00 per person.
Car show - Entry fee $15.00 per car Prereserved / $20.00 at the gate.
Swap - $20.00 per pre-reserved 10X12 space includes 1 exhibitor pass.
Cars for Sale - $10.00 per car includes 1 exhibitor pass.
Overnighter: Saturday Oct 11th at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, WA. 30 min carabus to the show sunday morning. No reservations needed, just pick a spot and pay at the station.

Penrose Point State Park
Sep 12-13, 2003 Penrose Point State Park, WA.

There are currently only 2 sites left in the group camp! This event is filling up fast. Email Peggy Day for sign up. When this event is full, you may also reserve a space in the regular campground area with Washington State Parks. There is a $16.00 reservation fee for 2 nights. Very private, covered picnic area, water, fire ring w/benches, vault & flush toilets. Park has showers. Group area is away from the campground next to grassy day use area with shade & tables. Great view of the sound.

Directions: From I-5 in Tacoma take the Highway 16 Bremerton exit, that will take you over the Narrows Bridge.
From SR 16 at Purdy:Follow SR 302 (Key Penninsula Hwy.) south through the towns of Key Center and Home. Turn left at Cornwall Rd. KPS (second road after crossing the Home Bridge). Continue about 1 1/4 miles, and turn left onto 158th Ave. KPS. Follow this street into the park.

Elk Lake Campground
Sep 20-21, 2003 Elk Lake Campground, OR.

Join Brian for a fun campout at Elk Lake. Elk Lake Campground is located approximately 14 miles north of Detroit at an elevation of 3,700 feet. This campground has 12 tent only sites. Toilets are available but there is no potable water. Wildflowers are a beautiful sight in the meadow. The Bull of the Woods Wilderness is nearby and accessible from Elk Lake. More info.

Directions: From Hwy. 22 at Detroit, turn onto Breitenbush Road #46. Proceed 4.5 miles, turn left onto FS road 4696. Proceed 0.7 miles, turn left on FS road 4697. Follow FS road 4697 for 9.5 miles, turn left onto small spur road located at west end of Elk Lake. The camping area is about 0.4 miles ahead. CAUTION: FS road 4697 is not maintained for the last 2 miles into Elk Lake. Access by low-clearance vehicles and trailers is not recommended as the road is rough and rocky.

Deschutes River Rafting
Aug 2-3, 2003 Maupin, OR

90 miles east of Portland, 250 south east of Puget Sound. Activity's: Camping, "eating" hiking, biking,"eating" White water river rafting, have I mentioned eating? :) Those planning to raft, will need to let me know, as rental of equipment will need to made in advance. I can make those arrangements, or better yet, you can do it from the net. Be prepared for triple digit temps, cold water & a great time.

GORGEous Gathering
Aug 9-10, 2003 Full Sail Brewery and Brew Pub

Hood River, OR. Following some eats and tours or what have you we will depart for Route 30 Classics in Mosier OR. We then cruise out to one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. The Wind River Cellars winery located in Husum WA. The road up to the winery is not for trailer queen show cars. We will be camping at the actual winery, and should bring the usual infamous Potluck type food stuffs.

Alsea Falls Campout

No dollars are needed!!! Isn't that nice! Anyway, I made reservations for group space # 5 at the Hubert K. McBee Memorial Park which is in the coast range West of Alpine OR, and East of Alsea. It is about a half mile past the Alsea campgrounds, picnic area, and the falls themselves.
