| 7th Annual Un-Superbowl Campout |
Feb 2-4th
|
Nehalem Bay State Park |
Once again we tempt the fates and the weather gods to see what they will
throw at us! We've had hail, sun, wind, rain, sleet, and everything in
between. You don't want to miss this one! After all, you bought that rain
gear, so let's use it!
NOTE:
Each person needs to get their own campsite this year. In the past we've had
issues about the "2nd Vehicle" rule, so please just spend the extra few
bucks and get your own site. We take over the A LOOP, so reserve your site
there. Latecomers, just show up, read the reserve list (posted at the
campground), and grab a site close by. The meeting hall is by A51, so go for
a site near there (short walk to the warmth and the bathrooms).
This website will tell you what is still available: www.oregonstateparks.org Events include "Saturday afternoon bus tour" and "Sunday at the recycling
center",
plus SATURDAY NIGHT HUGE POTLUCK and campfires, and beach walks, trash
pickup, dog walking, VW socializing, and all the other good WetWesties VW
comparing, chatting, and yummy eating! Email with questions. Looks to be
another good year in VW land!

| Millersylvania Campout |
| May 11th - 13th |
Millersylvania State Park, Tumwater, WA |
kitchen #4 is the group site. we do have to walk a bit between our vans and the kitchen site. it is not designated as rv camping. it is designated as tent camping so i will presume the lounging etc happens at the kitchen shelter. if you have wood at home bring it and we will keep the wood stove going or a campfire. i will bring several bins full.
potluck as usual at 6:30 saturday night. no need to fear poor culinary skills. just grab a bag of chips and come anyway. there is always plenty. or maybe we should have a men's cookoff since it is mother's day weekend????? nah we may not eat!!! if you like to bike it is a fairly flat neighborhood and there are lots of woodsy trails in the park. there is a lake , we are not 'on' it but close to it.
arrival any time afternoon on friday. departure by one on sunday.
May 11 - 13, 2007 Millersylvania State park Tumwater Washington
email me with any specific questions and i will scope it out for you.

| Overnight Campout / Spring Meet XXI |
| May 20th |

Spring Meet has moved to a new location! Spring Meet is a VW Carshow and Swapmeet - always a good time!
There will be camping available at the Fairgrounds - see NW VW Club's site for more info.

| Mudfest Campout |
| May 26-28th |
Kiger Island, Corvallis, OR |
10 private acres outside of Corvallis -- no rangers, no hassles, FREE
CAMPING
There will be fire, there will be rockets, there may even be live music! (Note to musicians: bring your instruments.) There will be lots of room! There is even access for the moderately adventurous to a side channel of the Willamette River for kayaks, etc. This campout will be held on private property, so there will be no electricity or water available, but, after all, the camping is FREE. ;-)
-> we *are* looking for 10 "Guardians of the Potty" -- well, OK, Honey Bucket sponsors -- at $10 each. Since the camping is FREE, that shouldn't be too painful.
Saturday night potluck, as always -- if you have a folding table and/or folding canopy, please bring them! We can construct our own meeting hall.
This year, we will be doing some sort of "community service project" for
the owners of the land, like spending an hour or two clearing brush so we
can get down to the river.

| 1st Annual Eastern Washington/North Idaho Camp-out |
| May 26-28th |
Farragut State Park, ID |
Farragut State Park is located 30 miles north of Coeur d'Alene on
the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho's largest lake. Once the
world's second largest naval training station, today the 4,000-acre
park provides a multitude of recreation opportunities. To the
traditional activities of picnicking, swimming, boating, hiking and
camping; visitors can add playing disc golf, visiting the Farragut
Naval Training Center Museum, taking advantage of the orienteering
course, model airplane flyer's field, taking the kids to the
playground, and using the horseshoe pits and sand volleyball courts.
Not knowing what the response would be, I just reserved a spot for
my family in the middle of several available sites in the Whitetail
campground (site #8), rather than reserving a group site. Total cost
for an individual reservation for Saturday and Sunday nights was
$36.04 with taxes and reservation fees. Reservations can be made on-
line through the Farragut website (listed above).
If you are interested in joining us for this weekend, I recommend
you make your reservations ASAP…some of the other sites were already
getting full.
Unfortunately this particular campground does not have electrical
hook-ups, however I wanted to ensure there were a large number of
close sites rather than just looking for electricity. There is a
bathroom with showers and water faucets though.
Potluck Sunday night at our site. Bring your chairs and folding
tables...and extra wood?
